Webinar: Thrive at five: Insights from the International Early Learning and Child Well-being Study
jurisdictions preparing young children with the skills they need to thrive? What gaps exist between different groups of children? In this OECD webinar, we revealed new cross-country evidence on the literacy and numeracy skills of five-year-olds, as well as their social and emotional skills, memory ability and mental flexibility. The findings have potentially long-term consequences for individuals and societies.
The presentation draws on data from the new OECD report Building strong foundations for life: Results from the 2025 early learning and child well-being study. A panel of experts looked at the findings and discuss what’s working, where gaps remain and what policymakers and practitioners can do to strengthen early years systems and help ongoing efforts to ensure every child gets the strong start they need to thrive in early schooling and beyond.
