ActionAid Bangladesh mourns the untimely demise of Farida Parveen, Bangladesh’s legendary folk artist and the eternal Queen of Lalon Geeti. Her voice carried the essence of rivers, nature, and humanity, inspiring generations to embrace love, resilience, and cultural pride. Through her remarkable contribution, she strengthened the Lalon ideology and enriched Bengali music and culture beyond measure. We fondly recall her unforgettable performance at ActionAid’s 6th International Water Festival in 2021, where her voice embodied the spirit of rivers and waters of Bengal. Our deepest condolences go to her family and loved ones.
