Over the past two years, a new development model for the dried fruit, berry, and nut sector has been established in three regions of Kyrgyzstan—Jalal-Abad, Batken, and Issyk-Kul. This model focuses on expanding opportunities and supporting key players in the dried fruit, berry, and nut value chain in target regions. This model focuses on enhancing export competitiveness, increasing production and sales of target products, and creating new jobs, taking into account gender aspects and involving people with disabilities. These changes are the result of the UNDP Aid for Trade project, implemented with financial support from the Government of Finland.
The project was implemented from January 2024 to October 2025 and covered key links in the value chain—from primary agricultural producers to service providers, support institutions, processors, and exporters.
