Social Citizenship Education Community Youth Facilitators
In the Solomon Islands, as part of the Social Citizenship Education (SCE) programme, Community Youth Facilitators are selected and trained to lead SCE awareness sessions in communities surrounding the SCE schools to ensure students receive the support they need to learn and practise SCE principles.
🏫 This is part of the programme’s whole-of-school approach which includes strengthening community outreach and engagement.
📹 Listen to what they have to say as they start their new roles.
ℹ️ The Pacific Community’s (SPC) Social Citizenship Education programme, a part of the Pacific Partnership to End Violence Against Women and Girls (PPEVAWG), empowers students, teachers and communities to embrace human rights, gender equality, inclusion, and non-violence.
🤝 The PPEVAWG programme is funded by the European Union in the Pacific (EU), the Government of Australia, and UN Women Pacific.
The SCE component is funded primarily by the EU and the Government of Australia.
