Making Passion a sustainable career: How VOU’s Performing Artists Are Building Creative Careers
Behind every performance is a story of commitment, discipline, and belief.
This video follows young performing artists from VOU, whose journeys show how talent can grow into a sustainable livelihood when the right support is in place.
Through the African Caribbean Pacific-European Union (ACP-EU) Culture Programme, the Pacific Community (SPC) supported VOU Dance Company with a grant to strengthen professional training, artistic entrepreneurship, and job creation in Fiji’s creative sector. The initiative is implemented by SPC in partnership with Queensland University of Technology (QUT), with financial contribution from the European Union.
By investing in people, culture, and locally led solutions, this work is helping Pacific artists turn passion into a sustainable career—while building inclusive and sustainable futures for women and youth.
