Making medicines affordable in Armenia
Marjik lives with diabetes. One of the 1.3 million people in Armenia living with diabetes and other non-communicable diseases, she has struggled to afford her medications. Now, thanks to a major health system reform, her monthly expenses for medicines have gone down by 75%.
This is also thanks to WHO’s work under the Universal Health Coverage Partnership, a multi-donor initiative that sees WHO working with governments to strengthen national health systems so that everyone, everywhere can get the right care, at the right time - without financial hardship.
