Zarghuna is one of 30 teachers in Herat delivering a new approach to learning. Trained by UNICEF under the Teacher Development and Support programme, she is part of LEAP, a pilot initiative helping Grade 3 students build foundational reading and numeracy skills through three months of intensive learning during school vacations. Funded by UK FCDO, the Learning Enhancement and Achievement Programme brings together girls and boys in classrooms where learning happens through play.
