Launching the LiftEd District Education Innovation Challenge (DEIC) led by the Govt of Jharkhand
The launch of the LiftEd District Education Innovation Challenge (LiftEd DEIC), inaugurated shortly after the International Day of Education, marks a new milestone for foundational learning in Jharkhand.
Launched and led by the Government of Jharkhand through Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC), under Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren’s leadership, LiftEd DEIC is a three-year, statewide program that brings together all 24 districts of Jharkhand to accelerate Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) outcomes for over 2.4 million children through an exciting innovation challenge. The initiative is supported by Maitri Trust, Porticus, British Asian Trust, Dalberg, and Room to Read India.
LiftEd DEIC is the third program under the LiftEd umbrella, complementing the LiftEd Development Impact Bond (DIB) and the LiftEd EdTech Accelerator, and strengthening LiftEd’s ambition to support the Government of India’s NIPUN Bharat Mission in achieving universal FLN. It aims to encourage micro innovations and build lasting momentum for FLN outcomes by providing:
- motivation through structured recognition
- guidance on high-impact actions
- timely data on priority indicators
