Are the Gulf monarchies collateral damage in a war driven by large powers?
“Gulf states did not choose the war, but yet they are bearing the consequences,” warned ACLED’s Bassel Doueik in an interview with @AL24newschannel, as missile and drone attacks and regional disruptions place mounting pressure on economies and infrastructure.
Countries across the Gulf face uneven exposure — from Bahrain, the most vulnerable GCC economy, to Qatar’s reliance on LNG and Saudi Arabia’s more insulated position. Iran remains the side with the strategic leverage in this war, while the world economy bears the price of the conflict.
