In the aftermath of the 2024 conflict in Lebanon, schools like Ajaltoun Technical School were left damaged and empty. But through the PIONEER initiative, students transformed those same spaces into vibrant learning environments, and, in the process, rediscovered their strength and potential. From painting and plumbing to first aid and peacebuilding, more than forty students learned hands-on skills while rebuilding their classrooms. Alongside their teachers, mentors, and the school caretaker, they built something greater than walls — they built confidence, teamwork, and community. PIONEER is implemented in close collaboration with Caritas Lebanon as a main local implementing partner, and it's part of the SILA programme.
