How Local Organizations Are Getting Children Back to School in Mali

In Mali’s crisis-affected communities, many children—especially girls and those displaced—face serious barriers to education, including lack of birth certificates, cultural norms, and ongoing instability. In this video, Mohamed Ag Sidi, the leader of a community-based organization, shares how local organizations are leading change by helping families overcome these challenges and ensuring more children can access school. Through the EMPOWER project, Right To Play is strengthening the capacity of community-based organizations to lead advocacy, support families in obtaining documentation, and work closely with education authorities. This localized approach is already making a difference—helping over 2,000 children enrol in school and creating sustainable, community-led solutions that continue beyond the project. #RightToPlay #Localization #EMPOWER #EducationForAll #Mali #DisplacedChildren #GirlsEducation #CommunityLeadership #AccessToEducation #GlobalDevelopment
