How Seynabou Leads Girls in Senegal to Break Barriers Through Sport

In Sédhiou, Senegal, girls who want to play sports face deeply entrenched barriers — cultural norms that say sport belongs to men, the threat of child marriage, and almost no female coaches to look up to. Few women are recognized as coaches, and many girls lack safe spaces to build confidence and life skills. Through Right To Play training, Seynabou earned the internationally recognized CAF D Licence, formalized her team into a national-level competitor, and turned her coaching sessions into a safe space where girls learn to speak up, protect themselves, and dream bigger.
