Fairtrade Standards are evolving - how? π
In this ever-changing world, building standards solely on compliance is not sufficient anymore. Farmers, workers, and businesses are facing multiple challenges and risks and our standards must help them in identifying and addressing those risks β οΈ
This is why we are moving away from a compliance-based approach to a risk-based approach.
By doing so, we will:
π‘ encourage and require farmers and traders to focus their resources and effort where itβs most necessary;
π€ become an even stronger partner for retailers, brands, and traders in mitigating the most serious risks and challenges in their supply chains; and
π± better support farmers and workers to increase livelihoods, improve working conditions, and build strong environmental practices.
