Migration Journeys, Told from the Classroom

Migration Journeys, Told from the Classroom

In classrooms across Guinea, a short film can open the door to stories that are usually left unspoken. Stories of friends who left and never returned. Of journeys cut short. Of hard choices made too early. In Dabadou, Mamou and Boké, students speak honestly about irregular migration and the pressures they face. Through open discussions, fear turns into dialogue, silence into reflection. What was once a distant idea becomes a shared reality—one that directly affects young people, their families and their education. Through the PROKIDS project, implemented by IOM in Guinea in partnership with national institutions, these conversations help young people pause, question, and rethink their options. By creating safe spaces for dialogue, PROKIDS works to strengthen protection, support well-being and keep children and youth on the path of education.
