Learning is For Everyone: Paving the pathway for inclusive education
On 23 June 2026, UNICEF launched the global synthesis report, Learning is For Everyone: Paving the pathway for inclusive education for children with disabilities, through a webinar bringing together policymakers, practitioners, and education advocates to discuss how education systems can become more inclusive, equitable, and responsive for children with disabilities.
The webinar presented key findings from UNICEF Innocenti’s LiFE research across Cambodia, Djibouti, Kyrgyzstan, Mozambique, Nepal, and Paraguay, alongside a targeted literature review and analysis of Programme for International Student Assessment for Development (PISA-D) data.
The report highlights global trends, persistent barriers, and pathways for strengthening inclusive education systems worldwide.
Tomoko Shibuya, Senior Education Advisor - Equity, Disability, Gender and Inclusion, UNICEF, opened the webinar and Dipak Majhi, Inclusive Education Section Officer, Nepal’s Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Rosalin Abigail Kyere-Nartey, Founder/Executive Director, Africa Dyslexia Organisation and Samman Thapa, Representative, UNICEF Kyrgyzstan formed the panel of experts who shared diverse perspectives on policy, practice, and system transformation.
