Webinar: Giving informal learning the recognition it deserves

Webinar: Giving informal learning the recognition it deserves

Lifelong learning is vital in a changing world, yet most learning happens informally. It accounts for the majority of time individuals spend on learning and is associated with a range of positive outcomes. However, informal learning continues to receive limited attention in national and international data collection efforts. The absence of a common definition and consistent measurement practices constrains cross-country comparisons and hinders evidence-based policy development. This webinar presents findings on how to better define and measure informal learning, based on a project supported by Belgium (Flanders), Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. OECD experts and policymakers share insights, recommendations, and solutions to strengthen informal learning. The discussions will explore how informal learning can transform education and workforce policies.
