Behind every data system, there is a purpose and a person. At the Global Data Festival 2026 in Nairobi, we put two questions to the people in the room: what happens without good data, and who this work is ultimately for. The Global Data Festival and the Kenya Space Expo and Conference 2026 brought together hundreds of participants in Nairobi, Kenya, June 2-5, 2026, for four days of sessions on space data, inclusive data, national statistics, climate and health, agriculture and food security, and artificial intelligence in development.
