Teachers play a critical role in supporting children’s learning and wellbeing in crisis-affected contexts, yet they often work under immense pressure with limited support. This webinar explored practical approaches to strengthening teacher professional development and wellbeing in emergency settings, with a focus on both policy and practice. Participants gained insights into global challenges and emerging opportunities in teacher support, including the approach fostered by the Regional Teachers Initiative for Africa. The session featured a case study from Plan International Ireland and Plan International Nigeria on strengthening teacher systems and delivering training in Northern Nigeria. It also highlighted perspectives from teachers and education partners working directly in crisis-affected contexts.
